DCCT - Technical Course Overview

The Diploma in Cardiac Care Technology (DCCT) is an advanced 2-year technical program approved by the Telangana State Paramedical Board. Cardiac care technologists assist cardiologists in performing critical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including electrocardiograms (ECG), stress testing, Holter monitoring, and invasive cardiovascular catheterizations.

At Siddartha Group, we train students in cardiovascular anatomy and pathology, cardiovascular device operations, defibrillator setups, cardiac pharmacology, and emergency support. The clinical internship modules are conducted in cardiac intensive care units (ICU) and cardiac catheterization laboratories (Cath Labs).

Key Academic Modules

The DCCT curriculum combines cardiovascular medicine with clinical engineering:

• Anatomy & Physiology of Cardiac Systems: Structure of the heart, coronary arteries, cardiac cycle, hemodynamics, and conduction system mechanisms.
• Electrocardiography & Arrhythmia Checks: Placement of 12-lead electrodes, reading normal and pathological ECG rhythms, and detecting acute myocardial infarctions.
• Stress Testing & Ambulatory ECG: Conducting Treadmill Tests (TMT), monitoring vitals during exercise loads, and configuring 24-hour Holter monitoring systems.
• Cath Lab & Cardiac ICU Assistances: Assisting in coronary angiographies, angioplasties, temporary pacemaker insertions, and handling sterile clinical accessories.
